John Pearce, a 1965 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, who wrote a book on the early history of Wildcats football, recently published a book called, “Ever Remember”, based on a diary written by his grandmother, Alma Caldwell. She was 16 at the time she wrote about Sulphur Springs’ life from June 1913 to June 1914. Along with school activities, the diary discussed her budding romance with Emmett Thornton, whom she later married. Alma also collected clippings of events that occurred during the year. “Ever Remember” is available through Amazon.Com. Pearce is now working on a book based on his father’s diary during World War II.
