“Updated” Wildcats Hang On For District Win

The Wildcats’ football team fell into a 14-0 first quarter hole before their offense exploded in the last 3 quarters to take a 50-28 district victory over Mt. Pleasant Friday night on the road. Along the way the Wildcats overcame six lost fumbles. The Wildcats unveiled Jaylon Hawkins as a running back and he scored the first Wildcats touchdown while gaining well over 100 yards. Quarterback Larry Pryor threw TD passes to C.J. Stephens and Dillon Carpenter and ran for two more. Back Tyler Rosamond scored on two TD runs. Tanner Ramirez added a field goal. The Wildcats are now 1-1 in district and 2-3 overall. They’ll host Greenville for homecoming Friday.

Wildcats Football Coach Greg Owens was pleased with the way his team responded after they fell behind Mt. Pleasant 14-0 early in their game Friday night. Coach Owens said the play of the offensive and defensive lines was outstanding in the 50-28 win. The Wildcats, now 1-1 in district play, host Greenville for homecoming Friday.
