“Updated” Sulphur Springs Improves to 2-1 in District

Wildcats quarterback Larry Pryor ran for three touchdowns and threw for two others as the Wildcats captured their Homecoming district game over Greenville, 50-33 Friday evening. Pryor threw a long TD pass to end C.J. Stephens and then completed a Hail Mary touchdown pass to end Jalen Dugan on the final play of the first half to put the Wildcats ahead 40-14. Backs Tyler Rosamond and Scott Galarza also ran for TDs and kicker Tanner Ramirez added a field goal. The Wildcats improve to 2-1 in district play and to 3-3 for the season. The Wildcats have a big game with possible playoff implications next Friday as the Wildcats take on Hallsville, also 2-1, at Gerald Prim Stadium.

Wildcats Football Coach Greg Owens commented on this Friday night’s opponent Hallsville on KSST and Channel 18’s Saturday Morning Coach’s Show. He said the Bobcats are always tough. Coach Owens added they are disciplined and they play hard. Coach Owens liked the Wildcats’ offensive performance last Friday against Greenville. He noted the defense stifled Greenville’s running attack.
