PJC Offering Health Courses in Sulphur Springs

The Paris Junior College-Sulphur Springs Center is offering some health care courses to the community that will begin in early November, and early registration is encouraged.

Registration is being accepted for the classes at the PJC-Sulphur Springs Center campus office or by calling 903-885-1232.

A Nurse Aide course will be offered from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, beginning November 3 and continuing through December 11, 2014. No classes will be held on Nov. 26 and 27. The class offers preparation for entry level nursing assistants.

The Basic Life Support class for health care providers, emphasizing lifesaving skills for respiratory and cardiac emergencies, will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, November 7. The American Heart Association certifies the class.

A Medication Aide Update one-day class will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, November 14. The course content fulfills Texas Department of Health specifications on annual renewal requirements for certified medication aides. Med Aides should take this course one month before their certification card expires.

The class will meet at the PJC – Sulphur Springs campus located at1202 West Houston St. in Sulphur Springs.
