Lone Star Heritage Quilt Show coming up September 19 and 20

The Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild’s Fifteenth Annual Quilt Show is coming up this Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at The ROC of First Baptist Church. Over 100 quilts will be on display. There will also be special exhibits and vendors. Theme of the show is “Ties That Bind”. Cost to enter is $5. The local quilt guild has kept their traditional weekend for their show. That keeps the local show from conflicting with others across the state. Had they moved to October with Fall Festival, they would have conflicted with a large International Show. Guild Member Lou Jane Brandenburg discussed the show on KSST’s Good Morning Show with Enola Gay Tuesday morning.

The raffle quilt is also the theme quilt for the annual Lone Star Heritage Quilt Show coming up September 19 and 20 at The Roc. Entitled “Ties the Bind”, the quilt is constructed of fabric from 769 neckties and 52 vintage necktie labels. It is on display in the window of Belle Amie Day Spa on the square until the weekend of the show. Tickets are available from guild members at $1 each. The 2-day show will have over 100 heirloom quilts hung for display in addition to several “special feature” projects. Tickets will be $5 person at the door, with children under 12 admitted free.
