KLTV Reports on Dog Cruelty, Police Chief Resigns

KLTVTV Channel 7 in Tyler reported on their website Thursday that former Rains County Sheriff’s Deputy Jerrod Dooley had animal cruelty charges dropped against him in return for surrendering his law enforcement license. The agreement was struck during a pretrial hearing before District Judge Eddie Northcutt in Rains County District Court. Dooley was charged with the shooting death of a blue healer dog during a burglary investigation.

TV Channel 7 in Tyler reported on their website Thursday that the Police Chief  Emory Bruce Feagan had resigned. The resignation came after Feagan used social media to criticize the firing of former Rains County Deputy Jerrod Dooley after he was charged with the fatal shooting of a blue healer dog during a burglary investigation. The resignation was announced by the city administration.
