WWII’s “The Battle of Peleliu” Part of a Veteran’s Legacy

The battle at Peleliu in the South Pacific Theater during World War II is little known to many but to Ed Hammond and those who fought with him, it is a legacy that should be heard. Over 70% of the battalion did not return. Ed told his story to KSST/Channel 18 Tuesday morning on The Morning Show with Enola Gay. Here is a part of his story. Other veterans have stories. After viewing Ed’s story, encourage your veteran to share his/her story. Call KSST, 903-885-3111, to make an appointment for them to share their story. If they cannot come in to KSST, we will come to them. Their stories are priceless and need to be preserved. We are committed to preserving our Hopkins County Military heritage.
