New Lady Cats Volleyball Coach Allison Irvin learned a lot about her team from a pair of scrimmages last Friday and Saturday. Coach Irvin said she learned some strengths of the team and also some areas that needed work. The best scrimmage for the Lady Cats was Friday at home against Cumby and Commerce. After a nervous start, Coach Irvin said the team rallied and did a good job with communication and with serving and receiving. She said Saturday at Wills Point against Mabank and Caddo Mills, the team played inconsistently and their communication suffered. The Lady Cats open the regular season against Prairiland and North Lamar at Prairiland Tuesday night.
