Jackson Dailey, son of Lee and Kim Beck, is midway through his study abroad at King’s College in London, England. Kim reports that he visited a World War II Veteran’s museum and graveyard in Belgium. She comments, “He is a history major and this trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Debra Wood recently returned from a 6-day trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, with her son Brad, daughter-in-law Kaylee, and grandsons Daegon and Chandler. They stayed at the Castaways Condos on the beach. On their trip down to Gulf Shores they stopped in New Orleans and visited the Aquarium of the Americas. Daegon especially enjoyed seeing the sharks, and Chandler loved all the big fish. On the second day of their trip Brad and Kaylee went parasailing, which they said was a lot of fun. Brad went deep sea fishing on Wednesday and caught several redfish that he brought home to cook. While Brad was fishing Debra, Kaylee, and the boys went shopping and to video arcades. The group enjoyed several meals of delicious fresh seafood. On the 4th Brad, Kaylee, Debra, and the boys watched fireworks from their condo balcony, which were shot from a barge in the ocean. On their way back to Texas, they made a stop in West Monroe, Louisiana at Duck Commander. Debra comments, “Unfortunately none of the Robertsons were there.” Debra really enjoyed spending time with her boys and Kaylee.

Chip and I were in San Antonio last week, where I attended training for work. We had a nice visit with our son, Delayne, over a delicious lunch at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Waco on the way down. In my free time, we enjoyed walking along the River Walk and driving past the beautiful historic homes in the King William District. We celebrated our wedding anniversary, a little early, with some wonderful Mexican food and seafood. On Monday, our actual anniversary, our daughter, Tiffany, and her husband, Jacob, and daughter, Jaidyn, surprised us with a visit and a George Foreman grill, which we used that night to prepare delicious steaks. Chip and I appreciate all the anniversary wishes from friends and family!

I appreciate hearing from my neighbors and hope to have more news to report next week.
