A funny story found on the Internet delivered with good comedic timing had the audience at the 2014 Ms. Hopkins County Senior Classic Pageant laughing out loud over and over. The result for 82-year old Sulphur Bluff native Clydene Fielden was a first place finish and the award for Best Talent. She said she never thought about winning the 2014 Ms. Hopkins County Senior Classic crown and she added she was surprised.

The 2013 Ms. Hopkins County Senior Classic Sonja Baker-Norton called this past year absolutely great and awesome. She said she got to attend ribbon cuttings and to meet so many people. Ms. Baker-Norton said the Texas State Senior Pageant was fun. She noted the Senior Pageants’ motto is Changing the Image of Aging. The 76-year old added seniors might be called the older generation but she said they were still around and were on fire.
