Melvin Ray Clapper

A Memorial Service for Melvin Ray Clapper, age 67, of Sulphur Springs formerly of Winnsboro, will be held 2:00 pm Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kyle Ray officiating. No formal visitation.
Melvin Ray Clapper died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 12, 1946, in Hominy, OK, the son of George and Gracie York Clapper. He married Karen Kendrick. She preceded him in death in 2001. Melvin was a retired Derrick Hand in the Oil Fields and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: sons, William Franklin Bixler, Jr and wife, Marla of Bartelsville, OK, and Patrick Charles Bixler and wife, Janelle of Coffeyville, KS; daughter, Valerie RayLynn Clark and husband Cal of Sulphur Springs; two sisters Peggy Dunsmore of Fort Myers, FL, and Debbie Nichols of Sulphur Springs; eight grandchildren, Madison, Dakota and Zachary Clark, Crystal and Jessica Bixler, Brandon Cleveland, Sarah and Emily Bixler and two great grandchildren, Leim and Lexi Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frank Clapper and sister, Betty Mick
