Emmett Cullen Smith

Emmett Cullen Smith, 73, of Point, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory. Interment will be at a later date in the DFW National Cemetery.

Emmett was born on July 7, 1940, in Dallas, to Joseph Cullen and Verlin Cecil Massey Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Emmett married Jimmie Kirby in Sulphur Springs on October 30, 1971. He worked as an electrician/maintenance foreman for Raytheon for many years. He was a Life Member and served as Commander at the American Legion Post #517 in East Tawakoni for five years.

Survivors include: daughter: Tina Louise Corley and husband Jackie of Sulphur Springs; 2 sisters: Lottie Nell LaRowe of Titusville, FL and Edna Adams of Dallas; grandchildren: Christopher Lee Corley, Amy Louise Childers and Carol Jean Kent; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous other loving family and friends.
