
Funeral service for Robert Nelson Spinks, of Emory, will be held at Elm Baptist Church, at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. Bro. Johnny Wheat and Bro. Paul Noble will officiate. Interment will follow service in Arbala Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday evening at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Spinks died peacefully early Saturday morning, Nov. 3, 2012, at his residence. He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Rains County, to Seth Oneas and Edna Center Spinks.
Mr. Spinks served his country in the U. S. Army.
He married Irma Edwina Lackey in Rains County, Nov. 27, 1947. Mrs. Spinks died earlier this year, in June.
Mr. Spinks was a dairyman and farmer for many years. He was a faithful member of Elm Baptist Church all of his life.
Survivors include: Sons: Jimmy Spinks of Emory, and Chuck Spinks of Houston Daughter: Carla Spinks Thompson of Emory 1 Sister: Barbara Spinks Lynn of Yantis Grandchildren: Marissa Meredith; Blake Spinks; Colton Spinks; Rustieanne Spinks; Lindsay Stofle; and Carrie Busby Great-Grandchildren: Blair Spinks; Braxton Spinks; Cameron Meredith; and Cash Stofle
Mr. Spinks was preceded in death by: Parents, 1 son, Nelson Spinks in 1995; 3 Sisters, Tommie Jean Pentacost, Clara Hall, and Rachel Purdy
In lieu of flowers, dontations may be made to Daughtery Baptist Church in Robert's memory.
