Graveside services for Neil Junior Henderson, 81, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Chaplin Mark Alred officiating. Honorary pallbearers are the past and present members of the Wildcatter’s Association. There will be no formal visitation.
Mr. Henderson passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at his residence in Rockwall, TX after on long hard three year battle with cancer. He was born on July 8, 1931 in Sulphur Springs, TX, the son of Neil and Lucille Henderson.
Neil graduated from high school in 1948 and then graduated from East Texas State Teacher’s College in 1952. He taught and coached for more than 35 years before retiring in the Denison area where he coached for 16 years.
He is survived by one daughter, Neilann Horner and husband Kyle, one granddaughter, Grace, sister, Jane Owen, two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Presbyterian Faith Hospice, 4360 Signa Road, Dallas, TX 75234, Waples Methodist Church in Denison, or a Charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
