Funeral services for Mildred Hicks Morris, age 99, of Rowlett, will be conducted at Greenpond Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 with Rev. Donald Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Greenpond Cemetery with Valton Teer, Richard Teer, E.J. Morris, Pat Bowen, Jack Bowen, and Mike Bowen serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 A.M.) at Greenpond Baptist Church.
Mildred Hicks Morris passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at Rockwall Nursing Home. She was born January 21, 1913 in Hopkins County to Luther Hicks and Hattie Beatrice (Hobbs) Hicks. She married Robert E. Lee Morris in Sulphur Springs on December 31, 1934. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of Greenpond Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Juanza Dye, of Rowlett; son, Donald Morris, of Knoxville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Greenpond Cemetery Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
