Funeral services for Sherry Annette Martin, 52, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Harred officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with Mike Matthews, Eddie Moon, Johnathon Shelton, Brennan Bassham, Rodney Reese, and Jim Martin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Shelton and Jason Neal. Visitation will be held for 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martin passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1959 in Greenville, TX, the daughter of Troyce and Bettie Patricia (Thompson) Couch. She married John E. Martin on July 13, 1984 in Tira, TX. He survives.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Tira Volunteer Fire Department, Hopkins County Fire Department, and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Clint Martin of Summerville, SC, Shawn Martin of Sulphur Springs, and Eric Martin of Sulphur Springs, sisters, Susan White of Greenville, TX, Patricia McCloud of Greenville, TX, and Pansy Yowell of Quinlan, TX, brother, Troyce “Bubba” Couch of Breckenridge, TX, grandchildren, Jacob and Nicholas Martin, and Dallas and Inez Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lucinda Couch, and grandson, Matthew Martin.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
