A graveside service for Katie Followell, age 101 of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10:00 a.m, Thursday, May 10, 2012, Mt. Sterling Cemetery with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Katie Followell passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Carriage House Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Millsap on March 25, 1911, the daughter of Green Gilbert and Jennie (Hurst) Gilbert. She married Leonard Clarence Followell in Weatherford on March 26, 1927. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Hazel Woodyard of Tomball; grandchildren, Joy Burnett, Diana Reppond, Glenda Flora and Carla Frazier and great-grandchildren, Stacey McBride, Cody Flora and Tyler Higginbotham.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Gladys Reppond; son, James Followell and several brothers and sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
