Jessie-HootenJessie Lee Hooten, age 103, of Point passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral Service is 10:00 am, Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Point Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Lynch Cemetery. Arles Vandiver and Richard Kellam will officiate. Pallbearers are Ricky Hooten, Jr.; Jimmy Hooten; Clay Hooten; Mark Adair; Scott Hooten; and Tim Hooten Visitation is 6-8:00 pm, Friday, May 24, 2013 at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.

Mrs.Hooten was born in Lone Oak, November 28,1909, to Looney and Cynthia Ann Adair Parker. Jessie married Enos Franklin Hooten on December 24, 1927 in Lone Oak.

nylanA funeral service for Bill Nylan, age 69, of Como will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, with Robert Newsom and Jack Newsom officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery, with Philip Kincaid, Jonathan Newsom, Cole Newsom, Jacob Hathcoat, Billy Nylan, Cade Newsom, Jay Shearer, Landon Shearer and Peyton Howard serving as pallbearers. Joel Newsom and Andrew Hathcoat, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Bill Nylan passed away Wednesday morning, May 22, 2013 at Baylor University Medical Center. He was born in Maspeth- Queens, New York. He married Millie Newsom at Lake Fork on July 30, 1988; she survives.

He was a drug and alcohol counselor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Probation Division. He was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church and he was a member of A.A. for 43 years and Gideons International.

Others survivors include: two daughters, Barbette Nylan and Christy Nylan; son, William George “Billy” Nylan, Jr., all of New York; stepchildren, Stacie Shearer and husband, Jay and Philip Kincaid; grandchildren, Sydney Grace Shearer and Landon Shearer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John Ewing Trumble passed away May 20, 2013 from a long-term illness. He was born on January 19, 1950.

He is survived by two brothers, Levi Williams and Joe Ben Trumble and three sisters, Pat Tittle, Elva Gay Monett and Sylvia Trumble Newsom.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Shearin Trumble and his parents, Joe and Lucille Trumble.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you for John’s sister-in-law, Ruby Trumble for the care she gave to John through his illness.

.Evelyn Rhodes passed away Saturday night, May 18, 2013, at her residence in Mabank. She was born in Warren Ohio the daughter of Joseph and Helen Petro. She married Lewie Earl “Lute” Rhodes in Yuma, Arizona on February 7, 1954. He preceded her in death in 1995.

She was a homemaker and retired secretary of Mabank I.S.D. She was a member of United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Ladies’ Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers, Van Nuys Alumni, Santa Monica Alumni and Log Cabin Swingers Square Dancers.

Survivors include: two daughters, Debra Massingill and husband Woody of Brackettville and Jan Jones and husband Randy of Eustace; sister, nancy Jack of California; grandchildren, Crystal Garrison, Kenny Samford, Chance Samford . Savanah Molinar and Whitney Massingill and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brother, Joe Petro and two sisters, Pat Chapman and Joyce Edmiston.

Ruby R. ReynoldsFuneral services for Ruby R. Reynolds, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, TX, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Joel Bain, Jay Bain, Joe Smiddy, Toney Hurley, Freddy Reynolds and Jerry Cain serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reynolds passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Carriage House Manor. Mrs. Reynolds was born on October 24, 1927 in the Peerless Community the daughter of E. M. and Buela (McCutchen) Bain. She married Robert Reynolds on August 20, 1944 and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Reynolds worked in the cafeteria for the Greenville ISD until she retired. She was a homemaker and a member of Rockdale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Dena Emerson and husband Troy of Dike, Wayne Jenkins and wife Sheila of Sulphur Springs, Sandy Walter and husband Tim of Hurst, Travis Reynolds of Farmersville, great-grandchildren, Colton and Dakota Emerson and Karson, Kameron and Kinsler Jenkins.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, son, William “Butch” Reynolds, daughter, Diane Reynolds Jenkins, brothers, E.J. Bain, Aubrey Bain, Ray Bain, Ivan Bain, and Pete Bain, sister, Geneva Bauman.

A funeral service for Johnie Hardgrave, age 73, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013, with Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service (1:00 p.m.)

Johnie Hardgrave passed away at his residence Thursday morning, May 16, 2013. He was born in Cheyenne Wyoming, the son of John Herschel and Alma Hardgrave. He married Vallie Kelly in Tyler on January 25, 1986; she survives.

He was retired advertising manager of Sulphur Springs News Telegram and he was of the Baptist faith. He served in the Arkansas National Guard.

Other survivors include: two sons, Brian Hardgrave of Dallas and Darin McCoy of Burleson; two daughters, Jana Kim Brizenski of Madison, Wisconsin and Darla Morris and husband Joe of Greenville; grandchildren, Andrea Hardgrave, Austin Hardgrave, Daniela Ruiz, Whitney Killam, Paige Killam, Zoe Morris, Emily Ragsdale, Jessica McCoy, Daniel McCoy and Joni McCoy and one great-grandson, Walter Ragsdale.

He was preceded in death by sister, Janet Courson and brother, Tim Hardgrave.

Debbie Teer Pool passed away Wednesday evening , May 15, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Valton and Merlene Teer. She married Rodney Warren Pool in Como on March 18, 1977. He preceded her in death in 2012.

She was a teacher’s aide and a member of Greenpond Baptist Church where she was a children’s Sunday school class teacher.

Survivors include: two sons, Jeremy Pool and Richard Pool, both of Tyler; her parents; brother, B. J. Teer and wife Janice of Sulphur Springs; mother-in-law Chesaline Frank and her husband Bob of Eastland.

George E. Tolson, of Sulphur Springs, TX, passed away on May 8, 2013, at Carriage House Manor.

Kelly passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX. Kelly was born on May 14, 1968 in Sulphur Springs, TX, the daughter of James O. Walker, Jr. and Peggy Jo (Cates) Walker. She married Keith Jones on August 14, 2010 at the chapel in Greenview. He survives.

Kelly was a teacher for 9 years and taught at Como ISD and Sulphur Springs ISD. She was a member of New Sherley Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by parents, Buddy and Peggy Walker of Sulphur Springs, son, Reese Walker of Sulphur Springs, father and mother-in-law, Butch and Linda Jones of Campbell, step-daughters, Jessica Jones of Galveston and Molly Jones of Ruston, LA, brother, Key Walker and wife Holly of Greenville, step-granddaughter, Evie Jones of Galveston, nephew, Jude Walker of Greenville, nieces, Sydney Walker and Jaxey Walker both of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, J. O. Walker, Sr and Ima D . Walker and Lewis and Doris Cates, nephew, Carson Walker , niece Riley Walker.

Warren Vine, Jr., age 71, of Pickton, passed away Monday morning, May 6, 2013 at his residence.

Yvonne-ThomasA memorial service for Marion Yvonne Thomas, 92, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Winters, Tex., will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, at West Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain Jimmy Henry officiating.

Mrs. Thomas died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. She was born September 5, 1920, in Batavia, Iowa, the daughter of John George and Anna B. Neff Hughell.

She completed nursing school in Moline, Illinois, in 1940 and was a civilian nurse for the United States Army Air Corp in California at the start of World War II and also worked with Flight Surgeon Lt. Thomas R. White, MD, who flew as one of Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle’s Raiders on the Tokyo Raid.

Yvonne married Richard Clyde “Dick” Thomas Oct. 31, 1945, and together they owned and published The Winters Enterprise in Winters, Tex., and they worked at newspapers in Gatesville, Tex, Shoshone, Idaho, along with newspapers in Kansas and Iowa. She also worked as a registered nurse until her retirement from North Runnels Hospital in Winters in 1998. She was a certified Emergency Medical Technician and was a licensed pilot. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winters

. Survivors include her daughter Kelley and husband Kerry Craig of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren Angela and T.J. Nash and Bryan and Corrin Craig of Sulphur Springs, Brandon and Tiffany Craig of Fort Worth and Teri and Spencer Wilson of Hobbs, NM; great grandchildren Orin and Kadence Nash, Payge Fraze, and Loryn Craig of Sulphur Springs, Loghan and Jaxson Craig of Fort Worth, Kendra Wilson of Dallas and Brittany and Koedy Wilson of Hobbs, NM.

Her great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., May 13, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Her cremains will be taken back to the family Farm in Iowa.

William (Bud) George, age 73, of Sulphur Springs passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
