The hype and excitement surrounding the Wildcats ESPN 2 appearance on Thursday, September 11 has caused a chance in how tickets for that game will be handled. Sulphur Springs High School Administrative Assistant Dwayne McMeans says general admission tickets for the Wildcats game hosting Wichita Falls Rider will go on sale at the high school office beginning Monday morning. McMeans says office hours are 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students. All the Wildcats reserved season tickets are sold out. Normally the general admission tickets don’t go on sale until right before a game at the Gerald Prim Stadium box office. The new procedure for this one-week only is expected to cut down on long lines outside the stadium box office on the night of the game.

Wildcats Football Coach Greg Owens said he believes the Wildcats played everyone on their roster on a very humid night Friday as the Wildcats topped Paris 48-20 at Prim Stadium. Coach Owens noted he has a roster where everyone can contribute and that’s what they did Friday. Some players played on offense and defense and there were heavy rotations on both lines. Seven players got in at defensive tackle and 4 or 5 defensive ends played. Eight players caught passes.

The Wildcats offensive coaches are wearing Whitehouse t-shirts at practice this week to remind players who ended the Wildcats’ season last year. The Wildcats probably wont need any additional motivation to get ready for Whitehouse. Even the 7 on 7 team this summer couldn’t wait to face and beat Whitehouse at the state tournament. Monday’s first practice of the week was great according to Offensive Coordinator Jeff Riordan. Riordan calls the offense’s first game pretty good. He notes the Wildcats racked up 515 yards, scored on their first possession of each half and had ten plays of over 20 yards. Riordan is also excited about the added dimension of running back Ryan Young who gained 158 yards. Riordan says it will make him a better coordinator.
