Sulphur Springs Athletic Director Greg Owens calls the annual All-Sports Athletic Banquet a fun time and a neat time to reflect on the sports year and to celebrate every athlete and what they have accomplished. Despite a disappointing season, the Lady Cats’ volleyball team has the chance to end the season on a winning note as they host Mt. Pleasant Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. on Senior Night in Wildcats Gym. Lady Cats Volleyball Coach Alison Irvin didn’t think the final score against Longview Tuesday night in Wildcats Gym reflected how well the Lady Cats played against the talented Lady Lobos. The Lady Cats’ volleyball team played with a lot of effort, especially early, but it wasn’t nearly enough as a talented Longview team defeated the Lady Cats, 3-0 in Wildcats Gym Tuesday night. Scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 25-12. The loss, the Lady Cats eighth straight district defeat, lowers their league mark to 1-9 and 13-19 for the season.
