Sulphur Springs Athletic Director Greg Owens calls the annual All-Sports Athletic Banquet a fun time and a neat time to reflect on the sports year and to celebrate every athlete and what they have accomplished. About 300 athletes, both boys and girls, competed in Saturday’s Sulphur Springs Powerlifting Meet. The Wildcats finished in 11th place. Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Jeremy Offutt said two Wildcats qualified for medals, Jonathan Alvarez, a freshman, finished second in the 123-pound class and Alex Gamez was fifth in the 220-pound class. Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Jeremy Offutt expects to have 300 to 350 lifters at the annual Sulphur Springs Powerlifting Meet Saturday.
