A large crane took down all four light standards at Gerald Prim Stadium Tuesday morning. Sulphur Springs ISD Director of Plant Operations Dale Guest explains this was done to greatly improve the lighting at the stadium. Guest says current stadium lighting is far below UIL recommendations. After new lights are installed on the poles, the crane will return to put the poles back up. Guest says the new lighting levels will double or triple current levels. He says there will not only be more lights on the poles but the lights will be replacing ones that have lost a lot of their power. Eagle baseball Stadium will also be getting new poles and lights which should improve its’ lighting.
