A record number of cooks, 154 in all, will be competing at the 45th annual World Champion Stew Contest next Saturday. There is a good possibility that this year’s Stew Contest on October 25 will be a record setter for number of stew pots. There are about 144 currently. Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce President Meredith Caddell is reminding all stew cooks from last year that this is the final week to renew their sites.
