Phase II Detailed Implementation

Monday night the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Board voted to move into phase II detailed implementation planning as they consider establishing a Graduate Medical Education Program at the hospital. The board is using a $150,000 state planning grant to evaluate getting into the program. The board is looking at collaborating with UT Health Northeast of Tyler. Under the rural track family medicine residency program, residents would spend their first year in Tyler and their last two years at Memorial Hospital. If the board goes forward, the program will be two to three years away.
