The Tira City Council will hold their regular quarterly meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd at the Tira Community Center. The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend.

Kim & Lee Beck’s daughter just returned from vacation at Orange Beach, Alabama. Word is that she is “all tanned and waterlogged, after enjoying the surf and a Hobie Cat ride.” She is ready to begin classes at Tarrant County Junior College next week.

Regina Payton, of Victoria, arrived on August 21st to spend a few days visiting her parents, Floyd and Martha Payton, and she celebrated her birthday early with lunch out on Friday. On Saturday afternoon they took a long drive through several county roads and places of interest. Regina will be attending a Court Reporting Seminar in San Antonio after the Labor Day weekend. Martha adds, “Jim and Linda Garner came by for a visit on Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed having them. They were out on a Sunday drive in the Corvette.”

Students are back in school at North Hopkins and the volleyball season is in full swing. Upcoming events are posted on the school web site.
