Brashear News by Debbie Young 08/13

Wow what a difference with a cold front coming in, the north wind in August is simply wonderful. Hope you are getting out for a day or two and enjoying the balmy like weather. By this weekend, I think we may be back in the 100’s. After all, it is August.

School is about to start and there are a lot of things going on. First, get used to school zone speeds again. I know this is hard but you can do it. Next, if you have school-age children their school start times and dismiss times have changed somewhat at nearly all of the schools. It will pay to find out so that your children will not be late to school. Last, please take the time to pray for everyone involved in teaching our future generation. It couldn’t hurt.

I guess you will get one more reminder from me about our Clothes Drive and then Clothes Sale at First United Methodist Church. The Clothes Drive is from August 11th through August 25th. Boxes have been set out by the Family Life Building for the Methodist Church and Brashear Baptist Church. If you have some gently used clothes that you would like to donate, please put in the boxes or call and I will be glad to pick them up. The actual sale is on August 23rd. The time set will be 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. I would love for you to come by and see what this is all about. This is a coming together of a community to help those who do not have make a good start on the new school year. Remember that everything costs 25¢. Not a better deal in town.

I would like to also let you know that Tom and I are starting our Divorce Care on September 7th. It will be on a Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm. (tentatively). After meeting, we may decide on a better time. Divorce Care is a 13 week study on divorce. Each week in an independent unit so that you can miss a week and pick right up when you come back. Please call Tom at 903.413.1673 for more information.

I would like to send a late Happy Birthday to my friend, Sharon Moore. It looked like she had a great birthday with a trip and a nice lunch and shopping with her in laws. Happy Birthday, Sharon.

Brashear Free Library has a new Bible, a Serendipity Bible, in it. Please take for yourself or share it with someone you know who could use one. Some new children books are in there too. Thanks to those who are putting these in for our young readers.

You all know how much I love P31. Well we have said good bye to our past trainer, Shayelynn Emerick. She will be missed. Our new trainer is Jennifer Caudle. So if you know Jennifer, be sure to wish her luck on this new endeavor. Or better yet, come and join us. Working out with others is such fun. I have made some new friends that I feel that I am blessed to call my friends.

News is small again today. Remember I can only write what I have heard from my neighbors. Call me at 903.612.8806; email me at [email protected]; or drop by CR 1119 and say Howdy. No I am not kidding, just come on by and let’s visit.
