Jessie Faye WalkerJessie Faye Walker of Sulphur Springs, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

She was born to Ada Anarton Kemp and Claude Benton Kemp on August 15, 1920. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1935. On December 16, 1939 she married Melvin Sterling Ishmael and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1965. She later married James Orville Walker, Sr. on September 18, 1972 in Hugo, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1996. She was a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Jessie Faye was preceded in death by her children, Larry Melvin Ishmael, Jerry Ben Ishmael and Sandra Ishmael Pickett. She is survived by her step-children J.O. “Buddy” Walker, Jr. and wife, Peggy, Pat Looney and husband Larry, Joy Wilson and husband Jim, grandchildren Cris Hughes, Amber Cody and husband Stuart, Jarred Pickett and wife, Amanda, Todd Hughes and wife, Kathy of Sulphur Springs, Joie Hartel and husband Robert, of Austin, Jeffery Pickett of Wichita Falls, Leah Ann Ishmael, Grant Looney of Cleburne, Lance Looney and wife, Sheri of Sulphur Springs, Key Walker and wife, Holly of Greenville, Jay Porterfield and wife, Amber of Murphy along with numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, R.D. Kemp, and granddaughter, Kelly Walker Jones.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Sherley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials my be made to First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs or Shirley Cemetery, P.O. Box 493, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75483
