Cashier Arrested at Walmart

An 18-year old Sulphur Springs woman, a cashier at Wal-Mart, has been accused of taking money out of the cash drawer at work for several months. Jokara Minyette Walters was arrested by Sulphur Springs Police officers Thursday evening at the store and has been charged with theft over $1500. JP Ronny Glossup set bond at $5,000. Accident on the North Loop

About 5:00 p.m. driving home on North Church Street, I came up on this accident. The driver tried to turn right onto the East Loop while driving what appears to be way too fast. He rolled his truck while trying to negotiate the corner. The damage to the truck and trailer was quite extensive. The load of feed was all over the highway and shoulder. Some more minor damage has been done to several walls in the Veterans’ Memorial on Celebration Plaza in Sulphur Springs. The damage was discovered and was reported to the police department by a city official on Thursday just before 1 p.m. Several stones had letters and scratches lightly etched on them. A Sulphur Springs Police Officer arrested a local man Tuesday who was named in two out of town warrants. Officer Seth McDaniel arrested 53-year old Ronnie Louis Somerville of Sulphur Springs just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
