Rose Pippen

Rose Pippen, age 69, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2019. She was born on August 12, 1949 in Wilmot, AR to Lindsey and Evon Bayliss and was a graduate of Crossett High School. She married the love of her life, James Pippen, in February of 1967 who proceeded her in death in 2017.

Rose loved people. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church during her life in Arkansas. She loved to garden, sing, dance, cook, and sew. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend.

After leaving Crossett, Rose traveled around the United States before finally settling in her beloved town of Pittsburg, Texas. She faced numerous challenges but many people in the town of Pittsburg loved & embraced her as one of their own. They looked out for her and made sure she was safe from harm. She enjoyed attending the local churches where she freely sang, danced, and praised God.

Rose is proceeded in death by her soulmate, James Pippen. Mother, Evon Edwards, Father, Lindsey Bayliss, and Adopted Father, Smith Lee Edwards. She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Frazer (John) of Branson, MO, Kelley Smith (Dustin) of Monroe, LA, and Amity Chaney (John) of Walker, LA, sisters Ann Douglas, Joyce Carroll, and Janet Reeves. Grandchildren Eric Frazer (Stephanie), Caitlin McDonough (Tim), Alex Frazer, Brady Frazer, Macy Blackburn, Riley Blackburn, Jackson Smith, Khallen Smith, Dylan Chaney, Brianna Chaney and Jaxon Leger as well as 5 great-grandchildren and many beloved niece, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 219 Clayton St., Pittsburg, Texas 75686 at 4 pm with visitation starting at 3 pm. At Rose’s request, she will be cremated and buried at Crossroads Cemetery in Crossett, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to God’s Closet in Pittsburg, TX in her honor or to your local homeless shelter or someone in need.
