SSHS Ladycat Soccer Coach Updates on Playoffs

Coach Bailey Comments on Royse City Loss, Making the Playoffs and Seniors

After a 5-0 loss to district champion Royse City on Senior Night Tuesday (March 19), Lady Cats Coach Joel Bailey called the Lady Bulldogs rock solid. He said they were solid from top to bottom including their subs. Coach Bailey said the Lady Cats threw everything they had at them. He said despite the loss, the Lady Cats were not done. Texas High got an outright victory at Greenville Tuesday that eliminated the Lady Lions from the playoff picture. The Lady Tigers grabbed the #3 playoff spot and the Lady Cats end up with a #4 playoff spot. A likely bi-district opponent next week for the Lady Cats is Jacksonville but they still have a game to play Friday. Coach Bailey called the playoffs a new season. There was an interesting start to the Lady Cats senior night game against Royse City. Senior Anna Irving started. The ball was directed to her and she kicked it over to Coach Bailey. One last touch at home for the senior who has been plagued by knee injuries the past two years. Royse City agreed to let the game start this way. Other seniors honored Tuesday night included Baylie Arrington, Jackie Esparza, Alli Stephens, Keeley Hudgins, Brooke Harden and Jennifer Lopez.
