A special meeting of the Tira City Council was called for Monday, January 28th , for the purpose of discussing the needed repairs on the Community Center, due to the water damage, which happened in December. The group considered the estimates and made their selection. The repairs were scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 30th . Another topic on the agenda was the property insurance. We recently learned that the carrier that we’ve had for several years is not renewing commercial policies.

Joyce Dodd would like to remind everyone about their Bible study at the Tira Methodist Church. The next session is scheduled for February 5 th at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Evelyn Horne attended the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation Gala on Saturday night, January 26 th , at the Civic Center. Evelyn reports, “The theme was “Vegas” and the food, drinks, dancing, silent auction, and decorations were fabulous!”

Chip and I met our daughter and granddaughter, Tiffany and Jaidyn, and Tiffany’s fiancé, Perry Gilbert, of Malvern, Arkansas, at the Campbell gym for our great-grandson Rylan Joslin’s Little Dribblers basketball game. Rylan’s parents, Landon and Laiken, his brothers, Brailon and Slaiden, and Laiken’s mom, Leigh Ann, there to cheer him on, too. After the game, they went to eat at the White Oak Buffet. Chip, Tiffany, Perry, Jaidyn, and I went to Big Smith’s for barbecue, and then Jaidyn and the boys spent the night with us and went to church with us on Sunday morning.
