Soccer: Wildcats, Lady Cats Lose to Lindale

The Wildcats’ soccer team struggled to maintain possession of the ball and to create scoring chances in a 4-0 loss to Lindale Friday night (February 15) at Gerald Prim Stadium. The Eagles broke open a scoreless game with a goal by Beckham Tiiman (correct) at the 24:29 mark of the first half. 29 seconds later, Tiiman scored his second goal of the night at 24:00. The Eagles led at the half, 2-0. In the second half, the aggressive Eagles were at it again getting a goal from Soloman Saboia at 32:31 to make it 3-0. Lindale scored a fourth and final goal less than 4 minutes later as Samuel Cox put the ball in the net to make it 4-0 at the 28:41 mark. The Wildcats have dug a deep hole for themselves in district play with two losses at home. Lindale evened their district record at 1-1. The Wildcats, 0-2 in district play and 5-7-2 for the season, now face the daunting prospects of facing always tough Mount Pleasant on the road next Tuesday.

The Lindale Lady Eagles made one goal stand up as the Lady Cats’ soccer team lost a close one, 1-0 at Tyler Junior College Friday night (February 15). The Lady Eagles scored a first half goal and then hung on in the second half. The Lady Cats just missed the net on several occasions. Lindale evened their district mark at 1-1. The Lady Cats have opened district play at 0-2 with two road district losses. The Lady Cats are 1-12-3 for the season. The Lady Cats have their home district opener Tuesday night as Mount Pleasant comes to town.
