North Hopkins BETA Club Attends State Convention; 12 Students Qualify for National Competition

The North Hopkins BETA Club attended the Texas State BETA Convention on February 1st through 3rd.  BETA is a national nonprofit organization that promotes academic excellence, service and leadership among students. The North Hopkins BETA Club had over 55 members present at convention receiving the club growth award for increased attendance. At convention the students competed in numerous academic and innovative competitions. The North Hopkins BETA Club had 12 students to place in the top three of their competitions, advancing to nationals.

North Hopkins BETA Students advancing to Nationals include (left to right): Kelty Conner- digital art 1st division 1; Tate Myers- 2nd Ag science division 1; Jessica Garcia/Savannah Nix/ Madison Arrington/ Jacie Wyatt- 2nd place recyclable art; Rachel Allison- 1st place on site art; Kelsy Horton not competing; Clayton Brandenburg- 2nd place woodworking ; Cecile Lozano (Sydney Bell, not competing) Breeanna Hicks- 2nd technology; Wyatt Wharton- 1st Ag science; and Saul Miranda- 3rd on site painting.
