Wildcats 1-2 in Prestigious Whataburger Tourney

The #8 ranked 5A Wildcats’ basketball team ended play in the 2018 Whataburger Tournament Saturday morning (December 29) with a 57-54 loss to Little Rock Parkview in the Birdville ISD W.G. Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City. The Wildcats went 1-2 in the prestigious tournament defeating #18 Class 6A Katy Morton Ranch while losing to eventual tournament champion #22 Class 6A Duncanville and to Little Rock Parkview, ranked #2 in their class in Arkansas. The Wildcats are now 13-8 for the season.

Wildcats Coach Clark Cipoletta said the Wildcats did not have their best offensive game against Parkview. He said the Little Rock school did a good job of beating up the Wildcats on the boards.

Keaston Willis led the Wildcats with 31 points. Willis also hit 5 three-pointers. Cameron Kahn scored 10 points. Sadaidriene Day Day Hall scored 4 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Xavier Cork had 4 points. Jeremiah Roland added 3 points. Boo Wilkerson scored 2 points.

The Wildcats have one more non-district game before district play begins. The Wildcats play Princeton Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Sulphur Springs Gym. District play for the Wildcats begins January 11 at home against Greenville.
