One Bad Quarter: Duncanville 63/Wildcats 53

One bad quarter was more than the #8 ranked Wildcats’ basketball team could overcome against #22 ranked Class 6A team Duncanville Friday afternoon (December 28) as the Wildcats lost, 63-53 in the 2018 Whataburger Tournament at Birdville ISD’s W.G. Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City. The Wildcats were held to just 3 second quarter points in the loss.

The Wildcats actually outscored Duncanville in the second half but they could not make up the large first half deficit. Speaking about the second quarter scoring drought, Wildcats Coach Clark Cipoletta said the Wildcats can’t do that and expect to beat teams like Duncanville.

Keaston Willis again led the Wildcats with 24 points. Xavier Cork had a good scoring game with 14 points. Cameron Kahn had 6 points. Boo Wilkerson scored 4 points. Jeremiah Roland added 3 points and Sadaidriene Day Day Hall scored 2 points.

The Wildcats’ season record is now 13-7. They face Little Rock Parkview, ranked #2 in their Arkansas class, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Birdville’s Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City.
