Miller Grove, Saltillo Teams Honored for Cross Country Titles

Monday morning, December 17, 2018, Miller Grove Cross Country Teams and the Saltillo Lion Cross Country Team were honored for their accomplishments at state competition as  Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom read proclamations on the courthouse steps. 

MILLER GROVE School Boys Cross Country Class 1A State Champions

WHEREAS, The 2018 Miller Grove Cross Country season began in May.  The team goal was to get back on the podium at the State Cross Country Meet; and

WHEREAS, On the weekend of November 3, 2018 the state cross country events took place in Round Rock, Texas; and

WHEREAS, The Miller Grove school boys cross country track team placed 1^st and won the class 1A cross country state title;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Newsom, Hopkins County Judge, do hereby urge all citizens in Hopkins County to congratulate these young men for their outstanding victory in winning the Class 1A State Championship in the boys division of cross country for 2018.

MILLER GROVE School GIRLS 2^ND PLACE CLASS 1A CROSS COUNTRY STATE COMPETITION

WHEREAS,   Round Rock, Texas was the site for state cross country events held on the weekend of November 3, 2018; and

WHEREAS, The Miller Grove school girls cross country track team placed 2^nd in the class 1A cross country state competition; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Newsom,Hopkins County Judge, do hereby  urge all citizens in Hopkins County to congratulate these young women for their competitive excellent in achieving second place in the Class 1A State Championship in the girls division of cross country for 2018.

                SALTILLO School Boys Cross Country Competition Third Place

WHEREAS,   On the weekend of November 3, 2018 the state cross country events took place in Round Rock, Texas; and

WHEREAS, The Saltillo school boys cross country track team placed 3^RD in the class 1A cross country state competition; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Newsom,Hopkins County Judge, do hereby  urge all citizens in Hopkins County to congratulate these young men for their exceptional third place finish in the Class 1A State competition in the boys team division of cross country for 2018.
