Knowing the driver of a vehicle at the corner of Locust and Houston Streets did not have a driver’s license, the Sulphur Springs Police Officer made a traffic stop. The driver Erick Jerome Sims, 40, of Sulphur Springs had in his possession 28-grams of suspected methamphetamine in a clear plastic baggie.
Sims is back in Hopkins County Jail charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 4-grams but less than 200-grams with intent to deliver in a Drug Free Zone, a Felony 1, and for Driving Without a License with Previous Conviction/Suspension. Sims had been jailed in September of this year on a possession charge.
