Wildcat Team Tennis Faces Whitehouse in Bi-District

The Wildcats’ team tennis bi-district playoff match next week has been firmed up. The Wildcats will play Whitehouse Tuesday (October 16) at 3:30 p.m. at Van. The Wildcats’ opponent was determined Wednesday (October 10) as Whitehouse defeated Jacksonville in a match that was rescheduled after rain postponed a Tuesday (October 9) match. The winner between the Wildcats and Whitehouse next Tuesday will play Kaufman next Friday (October 19).

The Wildcats played five teams from District 16-5A this season but Whitehouse was not one of them. The Wildcats played Hallsville, Jacksonville, John Tyler, Pine Tree and Marshall.

In District 15-5A, Texas High won another district title knocking off second place Lindale on Wednesday (October 10). The Wildcats are the district’s third seed and Greenville is fourth. Besides the Wildcats against Whitehouse, Texas High will play John Tyler in Sulphur Springs next Tuesday at 9 a.m. Lindale plays Jacksonville. Greenville will face Hallsville Monday (October 15) in Van.

The Wildcats have not played a match since a Texas High loss at home back on September 18. Coach Martinez says his team has had the chance to get in a lot of practice and he says they are ready to play Whitehouse.
