Lady Cats Remain in Playoff Hunt; District Standings

Lady Cats Volleyball Coach Justin Maness was unavailable for an interview Wednesday(October 17) because he was tending to family matters. Coach Maness did provide statistics from the Lady Cats heart breaking 3-2 loss at Greenville Tuesday (October 16) night. Autumn Tanton led the Lady Cats with 20 kills. Madi Vickery had 9, Sadie Washburn had 8 Lexi Whisenhunt had 5 and Sydney Washburn had 4. Whisenhunt had a team high 28 assists and Aubreigh Oliver had 8. Sadie Washburn and Oliver had three service aces. Tanton and Whisenhunt had one service ace apiece. Sadie Stroud had 19 digs. Maddie Millsap had 16, Tanton had 15, Sadie Washburn had 9, Whisenhunt and Oliver had 6 digs each. Sydney Washburn and Whisenhunt had 4 block assists. Tanton had 2, Sadie Washburn had 1 block assist and Vickery had 1.

(CLARIFICATION: The KSST posting on the Lady Cats 3-2 loss to Greenville done overnight Tuesday (October 16) or early Wednesday (October 17) morning included some misleading language about Lady Cats playoff chances. Despite the Tuesday loss, the Lady Cats are still very much in the playoff race. They are now tied for fourth place in the district standings with Royse City. Four teams will make the playoffs. All district teams still have two district games left and possible scenarios are numerous. The Lady Cats are at home Friday against Mount Pleasant. They end district play at Texas High on Tuesday.)
