Funeral Service for Joy Terry, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Spence Chapel, Sulphur Springs, TX with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating and Bro. Jim Moore assisting. Interment will follow at Elm Cemetery, Emory with Jason Terry, Brandon Terry, Brett Terry, Garrett Terry, Geoffrey Terry, Adam Cooper, Jeff Lawrence serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Terry passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Hopkins Place, Sulphur Springs, TX.
Joy Kathryn Terry was born on May 5, 1928, the daughter of J.W. and Lois Medders. She married Aussie Terry on June 12, 1948, he preceded her in death in 2001. Joy was a talented seamstress, a loving and nurturing mother, a music minister’s wife and left a Christian legacy of family values.
She is survived by her children, James Terry of Sulphur Springs, Donna Cooper and husband, Ronald of Palestine, TX, Hassel Terry and wife, Deborah of Livingston, TX; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, June Patterson and JoAnn Prather; brothers, Billy Medders, Altie Wolf and Bobby Medders.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
