Funeral services for Jean Massingill, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. C.J. Duffey officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to service time. Jean passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Wesley Oaks Assisted Living in Sulphur Springs.
She was born on May 29, 1933 in Nottingham, England, the daughter of Eric and Lillian Hancock Clifton. She married Norris Wayne Massingill, he preceded her in death. Jean worked in the cafeteria at Rains County ISD for many years. She was a swimming instructor. She owned and operated Antique shops in Terrell and Sunnyville. She also raised and showed quarter horses and poodles.
She is survived by sons, Sean Massingill, Rodney W. Worley and wife Donna, grandchildren, Heather Massingill, Jade France, great-grandchildren, Trenton, Maddie, and Harlan, brother, Brian Clifton, and sisters, Sandra Clifton, Marsha Carter, and Marilyn Clifton.
In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Michael Clifton.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
