Memorial Service for Charles Roger Miller, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday August 11, 2018 at Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church activity building. Roger passed away on Friday, June 27, 2018 at Carriage House Manor, in Sulphur Springs.
He was born on February 26, 1942 in Pasadena California, the son of Charles Marion Miller and Oma Flemens Miller. He was a member of Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church. Roger was a graduate of Cumby High School, where he exceled in track and basketball. He remained an avid supporter of Cumby Schools. He was an army veteran, having served in the military police.
Roger is survived by daughters, Tracie Miller Rueffer, Becky Jo Miller Cope and son Roger Dale Miller. Sisters, Irene Miller Maddox of Van,Sandra Miller Gray (Arvis) of Kaufman. Brother Virgil McDaniel (Louise) of Campbell. He is survived by close cousins Ray Flemens (Phyllis), Diane Ross, of Sulphur Springs, and Norman Flemens (Julia) of Las Vegas, along with numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lloyd McDaniel, and brother-in-law Tommy Maddox. The family wishes to thank Cima Hospice and Terisa Ross, along with the staff of Carriage House for their support and care.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church, Cumby Schools, or a charity of your choice.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
