Indictments from February 15, 2018. Please note that there were 43 new cases indicted. However five of these defendants have not been arrested and their names have not been published at this time.
Alex Christopher Adams was indicted for Injury Child/Elderly/Disabled Criminal Negligence. Sulphur Springs Police were called to 1531 East Industrial in reference to an assault on a child. Police were told that Alex Christopher Adams, 39, had assaulted an 11 year old child. Visible injuries were present on the child. Adams said he had wrestled with the child.
Eric James Baldwin was indicted for Money Laundering, more than $2500 but less than $30,000.
Brandon Reid Black was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams. Black, 31, of Eustace was in a Honda Civic that was stopped for a traffic violation at Main and Mark Streets by Sulphur Springs police. The vehicle had been reported to police as suspicious when it had pulled into a residence drive causing alarm to the homeowner. The two in the vehicle exhibited signs of nervousness, excessive, rapid talking, breathing heavily and uncontrolled shaking. Narcotics were found in the vehicle.
Christopher Michael Morgan, 34, was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than or equal to 400-grams. Morgan was with Black in the Honda Civic.
Leslie Austin Boswell was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams.
Victoria Grace Brawley was indicted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Jessica Elizabeth Bruce was indicted for Assault Public Servant. Bruce, 34, of Winnsboro, kicked a Hopkins County Deputy in the chest as she refused to exit her vehicle following a stop for a defective tail lamp. The stop led to the deputy being informed by dispatch of outstanding warrants for Bruce. When informed of the outstanding warrants, Bruce was asked to step out of the vehicle. She refused to leave her vehicle until “…she was given proof of the warrants” according to the deputy’s report. The deputy called for backup. When the second deputy arrived, Bruce was resisting arrest and kicked one of the deputies.
Amanda Ann Cantrell was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams.
Chelsea Leanne Carter was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1-gram in a Drug Free Zone.
Andrea Lynn Chapman was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1-gram. Following a traffic stop for driving in the left lane on I-30 at the 133 mile-marker, Chapman, 39, of Nevada, Texas, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1. She had open containers in her floor board of her auto and was extremely nervous. She denied consent to search but following a K-9 alert on the vehicle; a probable cause search was initiated. The Substance was located in the auto.
Moises Reynaldo Crispin, Jr. was indicted for Money Laundering more than $30,000 but less than $150,000.
Emanuel Erby was indicted for Money Laundering more than $30,000 but less than $150,000.
GARCIA-DE-PONCE, GUADALUPE
Guadalupe Garcia-De-Ponce was indicted for Possession of Marijuana more than 50lbs but less than 2,000lbs. Sulphur Springs Police Officer Buddy Williams stopped a 2017 Nissan Sentra at the 131 mile marker and located 165lbs of marijuana in the trunk of the auto. Williams told KSST News that traffickers are finding other routes than the I-30 corridor that at one time yielded as many as three such stops a night. Williams said when he stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation, he noticed that all four windows were down and a strong odor of air freshener greeted him. He said there was an undertone, just a hint, of marijuana smell as well. The occupants of the vehicle showed nervous indicators that motivated Williams to ask for consent to search the vehicle. Consent was granted. In the trunk was the 165 lbs of marijuana. The occupants of the vehicle were traveling to Little Rock, Arkansas from Odessa according to their statement to Williams.Magali Ibarra-Hernandez, 34, and Guadalupe Garcia-De-Ponce, 36,

Magali Ibarra-Hernandez was indicted for Possession of Marijuana more than 50lbs but less than 2,000lbs. (see above)
Charles Dean Gass was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1-gram.
Jamie Graham Smith was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1-gram.
Gina Esmeralda Gutierrez was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1-gram.
Willy Gibson was indicted for Forgery Government/National Instrument/Money/Security. City police officers were sent to the 1700 block of south Broadway on a report of suspicious activity. They discovered some counterfeit money and a firearm in an SUV the couple were in. the 35-year old Gibson, of Shreveport, Louisiana was charged with forgery and with being a felon in possession of a firearm
Raul Gonzalez, Jr. was indicted for Injury Child/Elderly/Disabled with intent Bodily Injury. Gonzalez, 37, who lives on CR 1163 in Hopkins County, was arrested for the assault of his 73-year old father.
David Carl Harvey was indicted for Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams in a Drug Free Zone. Harvey, 41, whose address was Days Inn in Sulphur Springs, was arrested following an investigation by the Special Crimes Unit. Harvey sold the Controlled Substance Methamphetamine in a Drug Free Zone.
Brooke Sierra Hayward was indicted for Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle. While on patrol, the Hopkins County Deputy clocked the speed of a 2013 Chevy Malibu at 105 mph on FM 69 Thursday morning. The deputy turned around and initiated a traffic stop. However, the driver of the Malibu failed to stop and continued for several miles finally stopping in a driveway on the South Service Road of I-30. After being advised of her rights, Hayward, 23, of Sulphur Springs stated she was trying to get away from the deputy. The deputy was driving one of the new county patrol units that are capable of greater speed than previous units.
William Allen Henson was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 4-grams but less than 200-grams.
Jerry Lynn Hicks was indicted for Injury Child/Elderly/Disabled with intent Bodily Injury. Sulphur Springs Police responded to an assault on an autistic individual Saturday evening. EMS was called to treat the victim and a report was taken. The named assailant, Hicks, 29, of Sulphur Springs, was not present when police arrived. As the officers were clearing the first scene, they were called to a second location, an apartment in the 700 block of Wildcat Way. There they found Hicks. Hicks was read his rights and then admitted to assaulting and causing bodily injury to the disabled victim.
Devin Ray Humphries was indicted for Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair.
Dustin Wade Mauldin was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams.
Jennifer Lynn Melton was indicted for Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams in a Drug Free Zone.
Tracie Lanell Miller was indicted for Theft of Firearm.
Flora Esthela Solis-Solis was indicted for Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than or equal to 400-grams.
Jarritt Kyle Stroud was indicted on two counts of Theft of Firearm. in the 1000 block of Country Club Road. According to the owner of the firearms, Stroud, 27, of Sulphur Springs, had been at the location that morning but had not been invited. Deputies also learned of a warrant for his arrest out of Rains County. Deputies located Stroud on the sidewalk at Caps and Flasks on Davis Street in Sulphur Springs. He admitted to having two of the stolen firearms in his room at his home on Gilmer Street. At the residence, the deputies found the firearms on Stroud’s bed, according to investigators.
Cody Lang Thomas was indicted for Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 less than 1-gram. He was also indicted for two counts of Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram but less than 4-grams.
Malcom Xavier Wilson was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 4-gram but less than 200-grams and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 more than 4-gram but less than 400-grams. He was also indicted for Possession of Marijuana more than 4oz but less than 5lbs.
John David Wright II was indicted for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 more than 1-gram. When the Hopkins County Deputy arrived at the entrance to the Hageman Reserve on FM 71 following a call regarding a suspicious person at that location, he found Wright, 51, of Mt Pleasant refusing to leave the property at the request of the property owner, according to the deputy’s report. Wright had attempted to enter the property continually stating that he was a member “at the country club.” It was noted that Wright was not a current member and they did not want him on the property. Wright was showing signs of drug use by clenching his jaw, unable to sit still, and failure to make eye contact. The deputy asked Wright to exit his vehicle. As he did, the vehicle rolled forward striking the entrance gate. A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe with a yellow liquid substance believed to be methamphetamine. A clear glass pipe containing a white residue believed to be methamphetamine was also located.
