Sulphur Springs Area Retired School Personnel Meets February 13 at 10am

Menzie Chase and Marilyn Powers appeared on the KSST Good Morning Show to talk about the Sulphur Springs Area Retired School Personnel organization open for retired teachers and other retirees from public school systems.  All retired school personnel from Hopkins and Rains Counties are invited to attend the meetings. The next one is Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 10 am at The Oaks Bed and Breakfast at 516 Oak Avenue in Sulphur Springs. Besides regular meeting dates, the organization also offers information regarding upcoming elections and issues, health insurance and opportunities for those who wish to volunteer.

During the morning, Menzie Chase will present an interesting program about her work in a certified therapy-dog team. Along with her trained basset hound Joker, Menzie visits hospital and nursing home patients and even visits school classes in a reading setting.  Joker came to Menzie through Basset Rescue Across Texas and later underwent certification in the Love on a Leash program of Sulphur Springs.
