Wildcats Finish Second at Emory Powerlifting Meet

The Wildcats’ powerlifting team, competing against 17 schools and 250 lifters, finished in second place at an Emory Rains meet last Saturday. Wildcats Coach Casey Jeter said he was proud of how the Wildcats competed. He noted that the Wildcats, with 35 points, missed out on first place by a single point.

For the Wildcats, Ian Blanch took first place in the 242 pound weight class with a total lift of 1485 pounds. Alex Rodriguez was second in the 123 pound weight class with a total of 795 pounds. Carson Bridges was second in the 165 pound weight class with a 1145 total. Vincent Morales was second in the 181 pound weight class with 1225 total. D’Idrec Dugan was second in the 242 pound weight class with 1440 total. Jo’ell Morales was third in the 148 pound weight class with 1020 pounds. Damiyon Dugan was fourth in the 148 pound weight class with 970 total. Ignacio Guerrero was fourth in the 275 pound weight class with 1180 total. Jesus Olivo was fourth in the Super Heavy Weight class with 1275 pounds. Andy Eddins was fifth in the 148 pound weight class with 960 total. George Greenway was fifth in the 165 pound weight class with 1070 pounds. Alex Medina was fifth in the 275 pound weight class with 1150 pounds.
