Wood County Sheriff’s Report November 22-28, 2017

November 22nd

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 312 near Winnsboro; at approximately 12:26 a.m. Wendell Hays, 59, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant, Tampering/Fabricate Physical Evidence and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 779 near Mineola, at approximately 9:04 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a grass shredder from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 9:47 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook; at approximately 1:20 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2117 near Quitman, at approximately 1:26 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4850 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:33 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4192 near Quitman, at approximately 1:41 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual, which was transported to Quitman Emergency Room by Emergency Medical Services. This case has been forwarded to other agency.

At 5:41 p.m. cows were reported out on CR 1170 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:14 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:10 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

November 23rd

At 4:10 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 2378 near Alba.

At 9:45 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 69 near Alba.

At 10:53 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.

Deputies responded to an abandoned vehicle on CR 3482 near Hawkins; at approximately 11:54 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and it was removed by Joe Hill Towing Service.

At 2:51 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1227 near Quitman, at approximately 4:02 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2951 near Alba, at approximately 5:04 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 852 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:13 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and advised the individuals to lower the volume of their music.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Quitman; at approximately 5:49 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 6:28 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4493 near Leesburg, at approximately 8:22 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 10:41 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

November 24th

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 7:06 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Cheyenne near Quitman; at approximately 7:31 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2503 near Mineola, at approximately 12:14 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Known actors stole items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to White Dove near Quitman, at approximately 1:04 p.m., in reference to a theft. John Payne, 47, of Quitman, was arrested for Theft of Property.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1943 near Yantis, at approximately 3:48 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. Diann Saenz, 53, of Yantis, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

At 6:21 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2270 near Mineola.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 4730 near Winnsboro; at approximately 7:46 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2320 near Mineola, at approximately 7:53 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 312 near Winnsboro; at approximately 8:02 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to FM 515 near Winnsboro; at approximately 8:30 p.m. Michael Blalock, 56, of Winnsboro, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 8:56 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and the parties were separated.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4200 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:59 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1975 near Yantis; at approximately 10:21 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

November 25th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1476 near Como, at approximately 2:24 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Cheyenne near Quitman; at approximately 3:29 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1602 near Alba, at approximately 9:40 a.m., in reference to a criminal trespass. Deputies located the individuals and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1236 near Quitman, at approximately 10:59 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 12:47 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 3265 near Quitman.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to HWY 37 near Quitman; at approximately 8:05 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 1801 near Mineola; at approximately 8:22 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5881 near Yantis, at approximately 10:24 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

November 26th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3269 near Mineola, at approximately 4:16 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 9:40 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

At 9:47 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 1612 near Alba.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman, at approximately 10:05 a.m., in reference to an open door. Deputies located the open door and it appeared the residence was abandoned.

At 10:07 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 3840 near Hawkins.

At 10:29 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 3056 near Mineola.

At 1:24 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1670 near Alba, at approximately 2:14 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Reba Burns, 24, of Alba, was arrested for Assault.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Newsome St. in Mineola; at approximately 5:53 p.m. Kelly Lile, 36, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

At 6:21 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3230 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2659 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:39 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80 near Hawkins; at approximately 7:29 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3600 near Hawkins; at approximately 7:55 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 2869 near Hawkins; at approximately 9:20 p.m. David Sessions, 34, of Tyler, was arrested for an outstanding warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Abandonment/Endangerment Child Criminal Negligence. Misty Decker, 34, of Yantis, was arrested for Abandonment/Endangerment Child Criminal Negligence.

At 10:37 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3220 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman, at approximately 10:44 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

November 27th

Deputies were dispatched to 4th St. in Hawkins, at approximately 6:33 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Prior to deputies’ arrival, individuals left the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman, at approximately 2:04 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Prior to deputies’ arrival, the individual left the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3496 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:23 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the noise and advised the individuals to lower the volume to their music.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2176 near Quitman; at approximately 2:39 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to the Winnsboro Emergency Room, at approximately 4:00 p.m., in reference to a dog bite that occurred on CR 4660 near Winnsboro. The owner of the dog was advised of the quarantine protocol.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3543 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:12 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2128 near Quitman, at approximately 5:19 p.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a utility trailer from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3470 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:39 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Misty Meurer, 35, of Gladewater, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2195 near Mineola, at approximately 9:50 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

November 28th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2380 near Alba, at approximately 12:53 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

At 7:46 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2317 near Mineola, at approximately 9:02 a.m., in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. This case has been forwarded to other agency.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2200 near Mineola, at approximately 1:24 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 4:43 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4186 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4510 near Winnsboro, at approximately 7:31 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

Between the dates of November 22nd and November 28th, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Police Departments, Emergency Medical Services, Department of Public Safety, Hopkins County and San Doval County, NM.

Between the dates of November 22nd and November 28th, the investigators of Wood County recovered $1,500 worth of stolen property.

Total Jail Count – 135 inmates – 115 males and 20 females.
