October 11th

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:04 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Loop 564 near Mineola; at approximately 2:58 a.m. Derrikk Griffin, 22, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:40 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to the Wood County Court House in Quitman, at approximately 6:44 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:03 a.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on FM 14 near Mineola. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a stock trailer from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 1799 near Mineola; at approximately 8:34 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2195 near Quitman, at approximately 9:32 a.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole multiple items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3170 near Quitman, at approximately 10:40 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 11:51 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 3987 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1885 near Yantis, at approximately 3:36 p.m., in reference to illegal burning. Deputies located the burn pile and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 6:38 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

At 9:08 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:13 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

October 12th

At 2:44 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2267 near Mineola, at approximately 4:21 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 7:21 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2205 near Mineola, at approximately 9:16 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 11:07 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:32 a.m., in reference to credit/debit card abuse. Actors, or actors unknown, made purchases with the reporting party’s credit/debit card without consent. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 11:32 a.m., in reference to a scam. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4830 near Winnsboro, at approximately 3:33 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass citation to the actor.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2230 near Mineola, at approximately 6:20 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 61, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and an autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2659 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:57 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 8:01 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 1801 near Mineola.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2260 near Mineola, at approximately 8:57 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

October 13th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3588 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:21 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A female, 79, was found deceased in her residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3824 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:13 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4890 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:05 p.m. Deputies located the individual and a Criminal Trespass Warning was issued.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2088 near Quitman; at approximately 6:54 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2460 near Mineola, at approximately 8:43 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies checked the residence and everything was OK.

October 14th

Deputies responded to suspicious vehicles on CR 1903 near Yantis; at approximately 7:57 a.m. Darla Scroggins, 42, of Quitman, was arrested for outstanding warrants, Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3.

At 7:59 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.

At 11:14 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 near Mineola.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80/FM 3056 near Hawkins; at approximately 12:36 p.m. Ronald Hood, 52, of Hawkins, was arrested for Obstructing a Highway Passageway and Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport.

At 1:10 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 69 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3496 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:51 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies located the incident and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5534 near Alba, at approximately 4:50 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies arrived and cleared the scene.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1210 near Quitman; at approximately 5:22 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4591 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:26 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties separated for the night.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 69 near Quitman; at approximately 5:45 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Mineola, at approximately 5:49 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2840 near Mineola, at approximately 7:02 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors or actors unknown stole several items from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 7:57 p.m., cows were reported out on Fm 1801 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:59 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Quitman, at approximately 8:10 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the individuals and advised them to lower the volume of the music.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2610 near Mineola, at approximately 8:37 p.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor stole items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1681 near Alba; at approximately 10:09 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to Fm 17 near Alba, at approximately 10:27 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

October 15th

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Quitman, at approximately 1:23 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the individuals and a citation was issued.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 1835 near Yantis, at approximately 8:41 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

At 9:11 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 near Mineola.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4847 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:23 p.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Fm 1254 near Mineola, at approximately 3:37 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 1170 near Quitman, at approximately 7:09 p.m. Deputies spoke with the individual and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2675 near Mineola, at approximately 7:39 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and the scene was cleared.

Deputies went out on arrest/warrant service to Cheyenne near Quitman; at approximately 9:04 p.m. Jimmy Heimann, 61, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3824 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:25 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 11:33 p.m., horses were reported out on HWY 80 near Mineola.

October 16th

At 4:34 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 near Mineola, at approximately 5:00 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies arrived and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:08 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1804 near Mineola, at approximately 11:47 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, were inside the reporting party’s residence without consent. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 12:25 p.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor stole a speaker and an amp from the reporting party. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:06 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on HWY 69 near Alba. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a culvert from the reporting party’s property.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2503 near Mineola, at approximately 6:35 p.m., in reference to a dispute. The actor fled the scene, prior to the deputies’ arrival. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8699 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:47 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Partiers separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to Broken Bow near Quitman, at approximately 11:54 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

October 17th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2260 near Mineola, at approximately 7:24 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. This case has been forwarded to other agency.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 2174 near Quitman, at approximately 9:02 a.m. Christopher Barnard, 43, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and Evading Arrest Detention with Previous Conviction. Frankie Clanton, 39, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and Evading Arrest Detention with Previous Conviction.

At 11:42 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 1801 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2174 near Quitman, at approximately 12:17 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:55 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on CR 2770 near Mineola. Actors, or actors unknown, stole items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Mulberry Cove near Hawkins, at approximately 3:51 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a jewelry box from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been closed.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4596 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:47 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman, at approximately 7:19 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 7:33 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 4990 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to Primrose Path near Hawkins, at approximately 8:29 p.m., in reference to a welfare check.  Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 5936 near Yantis, at approximately 8:39 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 9:06 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2377 near Alba.

Between the dates of October 11th and October 17th, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included Police Departments and Emergency Medical Services,

Total Jail Count – 144 inmates – 121 males and 23 females.
