Visitation and Celebration of Life for Hubert E. Wilkerson, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barry Stribling officiating. Mr. Wilkerson, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, at his residence in Sulphur Springs.
Hubert Earl Wilkerson was born on December 23, 1934 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Claud and Cappie (Johnson) Wilkerson. He completed high school in 1954 and married Sylvia Enriquez on May 23, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York. Hubert worked as a butcher for 35 plus years in NYC’s Meat Packing District.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; sons, Hal Wilkerson and wife Toni of Valley Stream, NY, Daryl Wilkerson of Richmond Hill, NY, and Leon Thomas Wilkerson of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandson, Joshua Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clay, Callie and Teenie; brothers, Sonny, Billy, Harold and Claude.
We the family wish to express our sincere gratitude to each and every one for the many kind deeds and expression of care that you have so graciously bestowed upon Hubert.
