Lila Mae Robinson

Mrs. Lila Mae Robinson, age 82 of Winnsboro, passed away on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 in Mt. Vernon. She was born on November 29th, 1934 in Simpsonville to the late Walter Overstreet and Irene Overstreet and was a member of Pine Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Lila Mae was a devoted mother and housewife while raising her only son, David. After David grew up, Lila Mae was employed for 25 years by Irving ISD as a teacher’s aide. Lila Mae loved to cook for and visit with family and friends and enjoyed canning and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse H. Robinson of Winnsboro; son, David H. Robinson and his wife Jalayne; brother, Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Connie Whitter of Winnsboro, Cathy Meir of Princeton, TX; grandchildren, Brian D. Robinson of Winnsboro, Raegan D. Swann and husband Chris of Winnsboro and one great grandchild Capri Swann along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters: Lacy Overstreet, Floyd “Shorty†Overstreet, Henry Garland Overstreet, Calvert Overstreet, Reba Self, Maxine Henson, Edna Lou Tacker, Maurine Gipson, Irma Lee Sanders. Visitation will be held on from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by Funeral Services on Thursday, August 31th, 2017 both at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494 at 10:00 am, Rev. Ron Smedley conducting, Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas at 2:30 PM, with Brian Robinson, Gene Burton, Jeff Zimmerman, Rodney Whitter, Mark Tacker, Don Overstreet serving as pallbearers.
