Folds of Honor “Patriot’s Sporting Challenge” Coming to Lake Fork area in October 2017

Chuck Roy, a board member of the “Patriot’s Challenge” Scholarship Foundation guested on the KSST Morning Show. He shared information about the Folds of Honor Foundation,  the Patriot’s Sporting Challenge and an exciting entertainment event scheduled for October 27 and 28, 2017 at Lake Fork. National in scope, the Folds of Honor foundation strives to assist the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in service to our country, providing healing, hope and an opportunity for dreams to be realized through education.

Because the Northeast Texas area is so rich in resources for fishing, hunting and other sports including golf, the concept of a trilogy of sporting challenges was conceived. Teams of four members who wish to compete in golf, fishing and clay shooting may enter and to date, over twenty five teams have already signed up. Well-known sponsors are also joining in support of the cause, with Skeeter Boats joining the Army Bass Anglers, The Links at Lands End, Hidden Lakes Resort and Community Chronicle as Patriot Sponsors. Country Music Association entertainer Don Woods Jr. from Yantis, Texas will perform at a concert during the dinner and auction social event the night prior to the sporting competition. A public event is also planned the next day at $25 person with food and live music. The ultimate goal is to raise $250,000 in scholarship money to be used for the benefit of dependents…spouses and children…of fallen and disabled soldiers who have served our country. Thus far, over 1500 scholarships have been awarded to Texas residents.
